Some seem to claim that it is due to the pin being offset. From the info I have gathered, it may be because there is not enough offset. I don't remember the exact numbers so I won't guess...but the stock pistons have over twice the pin offset as the Weisco's. This keeps things quiet at the expense of increased sideload on the piston skirts. I did hear, however, that some pistons were shipped without any identifying marks on them which indicate the direction of the offset. This would make it very possible to install a piston backwards. As many of you know, the offset is supposed to be in the direction of crank rotation. Although I'm told by a reputable engine builder that the piston slap will not harm the engine...I'd just assume have everything nice and quiet. I will be purchasing pistons soon...I'm trying to avoid making a mistake. Thoughts?
